I have an ahref account, but I only activate my subscription 2-3 times a year for 1 month, or 2. I have no benefits right now using all ahref features all the time. But siteaudit is free, and userful everymonth.

What are you trying get from ahref? You can detailed info about your competitors organic rankings and most popular site pages information easily.

I mostly just use the free webmaster tools version for most my sites. Maybe once a year if I have some special projects I will get a short term subscription.

I definitely think so. I use it for organic and paid research and competitor analyses, backlink monitoring, etc. We also use Screaming Frog and Sitebulb.

Take out a week trial for $7 and do all your competitor analysis in one batch. Spend a day playing along with their YouTube tutorials so you know how to use it.

For me the value in ahrefs is in competitor analysis, looking at their top pages, looking at backlinks and internal links for the pages in my target SERPs. I don't personally have any use for anything in the basic version.
