Please avoid getCerebral.com

Signed up yesterday with the hopes of avoiding a confrontation with my PCP about my mental health issues. Realized shortly after signing up that their main objectives are to treat anxiety, depression and bipolar. Which is fine and all but in my panic induced mind, thought maybe I should give it a try… After I was able to calm down a bit and read into the details, I realized the service wasn’t for me. Requested a cancellation within 2 hours of signing up. Now they refuse to let me cancel, or refund my payment until I speak with multiple “staff” members. Absolutely freaking out right now. The payment still has not processed, my bank won’t allow me to dispute the charge and now I’m out on some money I can’t really afford to spend because they won’t allow me to cancel. For a company that is supposed to help with ADHD problems, they sure are great at making you realize how awful it is to try and talk with someone about your mental health without making you feel like an idiot… Thanks for the full blown anxiety attack… EDIT** Contacted my bank about the issue. They apparently put a hold on the purchase because they’ve had multiple complaints about cerebral. They are disputing the charges and sending me a new card so they can’t attempt to charge me anymore. For someone seeking help with mental issues, this has sure been a rollercoaster of emotions… Don’t make the same mistake as I did…

I used Klarity ADHD and it was a great experience. Got me set up with meds and diagnosed me and it was affordable even without insurance without the hassle of going anywhere in person

I ALMOST signed up a few months ago, but never completed the process because I had that "wait, is this bullshit?" ping in the back of my head. Since they have my phone number and email, I get an absolutely AMAZING amount of marketing from them. I could unsubscribe of course, but I've stayed on because I want to see just how hard they market. It's **hard.** I get a "70% off today only!!!" email or text multiple times per week, sprinkle in some "we want to reach out to discuss your treatment!" messages, even a few personalized emails from some of their "experts." All week, every week. Marketing like that isn't cheap. Any company that markets their product this hard is not in the business of treatment. They are in the business of building up their volume to make their B2B model work. There's nothing wrong with that, but anyone considering Cerebral should approach them as if they are just a broker, not medical treatment. Because they are brokers, not doctors or treatment providers.

my experience with Cerebral was a complete nightmare. took over a month to get meds after they had been prescribed, and i had to hassle them several times to get it shipped. the only other person i know with them had the same issue and lost out on a full month of meds because of it. the thing that really bothered me is they seemed focused on “growth tactics” to get and retain people with little care about how those people were doing. no one knew or cared that my meds hadn’t shipped. no one knew or cared that i wasn’t scheduling sessions with my therapist anymore because it was a terrible fit. there was zero interest in whether or not i was being helped. but when i tried to cancel (which is a convoluted, drawn out process in and of itself), all of the sudden i was getting emails about discounted rates, and my therapist was suddenly interested in scheduling sessions again. tbh it was infuriating. i saw a post by the founder who recently got out of the hospital for some issue talking about how important health and getting proper care is and it made me sick because it’s clear they’re trying to enroll as many people as possible while not being staffed or prepared enough to actually deliver on that.

I've been using Cerebral for a few months now, and at first I really liked it. After reviewing my history of meds and their effects, my prescriber thinks that I have ADHD that's been undiagnosed, and that some of my depression and anxiety stem from untreated ADHD. As is common, she prescribed a non-stimulant medication first (Strattera) which really didn't have much of an impact on my mental state, other than making me slightly irritable (though I was also titrating down from another med at the same time). We stopped the Strattera and she told me that at my next appointment after my moods had mellowed a bit, we would try a stimulant medication. Fast forward to my appointment yesterday, during which she claimed that there are just some changes happening, and that I need to have a neuro psych evaluation before we can move any further. I sent an email to the support team, just trying to find out if there are, in fact, changes that are requiring prescribers to have patients evaluated elsewhere before prescribing certain meds; I was told that it's up the the prescriber's discretion. Not sure what suddenly changed in the 4 weeks between my appointments and why now she doesn't want to initiate the treatment that we had planned, but I'm not very happy about it, nor do I think she's telling me the complete truth.

I’ve been with them almost 3 months. I love them. They take my insurance so my care is only $28/mo and my Rx is $10/mo. They have been the ONLY ones to ever listen to me about my adhd and anxiety issues and offer meds

They’re a horrible, scammy company. I signed up after I was told by multiple customer service reps that I’d be seen within seven days. After charging me, the first available appointment was over a month out. So I’d have to pay for two full months before even speaking with a counselor. I immediately cancelled and requested a refund, which they denied. They delete any negative comments on their social media posts and will blatantly lie to you to get you to sign up. I’ve seen people say Cerebral counselors wouldn’t continue the medications they were already on, and would prescribe more than one thing, making their out of pocket costs exorbitant. I’ve seen other comments about being told by a rep that they treat ADHD only to be informed *after signing up* that they can’t in their state. The comments are all deleted within an hour. They’re definitely not in the business of helping people.

i recently canceled Cerebral, but my experience wasn't terrible. just figured i'd see someone in person that I felt cared more. i was with them for almost 4 months. my care counselor was nice and somewhat helpful but she and my provider were really busy so scheduling a monthly appointment was a hassle. medication delivery was good. i think I just wanted more help and articles and "just think positive" isn't helpful for me. i already know that.

They're a fraud like no tomorrow. Staff told me thru email they didn't accept medicaid at this time even though on their official website it said it did. I call and they told me they do but only in certain states. Like holy shit, the amount of mental gymnastics they make you go thru and the irony that they "treat" mental illness yet some how they are good at making it worse. I actually got my refund because I was in the middle of the sign up process where they took my bank info, since I trusted what I saw on the website. It's hard to get a refund initially but just don't back down. My advice is to directly call, DON'T EMAIL, ask to speak to a supervisor (somebody in the higher ups) and demand a refund. You can even threaten legal again even if you're bluffing and say you'll leave a bad review. Trust me they will have no choice but to do it. Now this is only going to work if you have a legit reason. If you've been using the service for more than a month and just change your mind the likely hood of getting a refund is slim to none, especially if you've already had them ship out meds. Yeah a lot of these telehealth services are just pure shit house

I signed up for cerebral about three weeks ago (mid Jan) after intial onboarding I was told I would get a follow up to assigned a therapist, it never happened. I logged in (which worked at the time) and sent message inquiring what was going on. I did get a response back but in that same response the coordinator told me that they would get someone assigned and that after looking at my account I could upgrade to the next level for no additional charge. So I followed her link and it took me to billing page which went from 85/month to 325/month. I thought this might be an error so i clicked ok. My discover card was immediately. I was not happy so i called right away to ask what was going on. I got the run around for days so I finally sent a message and a rep emailed me back. I explained the situation that i have not even got to use the service, for weeks no response now I am being charged additional monies for a service I was told was no charge. I asked him to cancel my membership, he said he could not but he would send me cancelation form and another department would get back to me. To make a long story short I got a response from that dept and they said its to late I agreed to the service and they bill in advance for service (which I never used) and on top of that cancelled my account. I can neither log in to the app or online as it says invalid credentials. I sent password request and emails to the company and no response as of yet. I feel swindled of money and time when in good faith I trusted cerebral but obviously they are not going to do the right thing.I opened dispute with discover but they are requesting the documentation of my communication with cerebral which is all inside the app(that I cannot get into). Vendor not returning emails nor can I reset or log into app. How is this service for something they charged me for cancel me within a few days of me asking and take my money for services never rendered? terrible terrible business!!! I was cheated out of 296 dollars that i was not ok with spending to use service , that i never got to begin with. I don't mind paying the initial consultation as I did speak to an onboarding agent a few weeks ago but that is it. Simply not right and a sham if you ask me.

I signed up for Cerebral, completed the intake, and spoke with a therapist. I was prescribed medication. The medication was supposed to arrive in 2-3 days. The medication never arrived, and no one from Cerebral contacted me to let me know there was an issue. After my medication was approved, I finally found after sending emails and texts that it was not approved. However, no one from Cerebral ever let me know! I signed up for Cerebral to get help with anxiety. It only made it worse. Go to a local therapist. Cerebral is a startup company, so there will be issues. I would stay away. I am in the process of trying to get a refund.

It's legit. I paid the $45.00 for the monthly membership and was able to get a prescription for antidepressants for way cheaper than I would have seeing a doctor with no insurance and then also paying for the antidepressant itself.

IT IS LEGIT! I have been using GetCerebral for a few months now. I am currently prescribed Adderall and Wellbutrin through them. Because I had been diagnosed with ADHD and taken medication for it prior to starting the service it made it easier for them to set me up on Adderall. The total cost of my medication comes out to around $40 a month, which is nothing for someone who doesn't have medical insurance. From my experience, their mailed medications (anything that isn't a controlled substance) are $10 per bottle (or maybe $10 per shipment, I only have 1 medication shipped so I'm unsure). I have to pick my Adderall up at the pharmacy which ends up costing around $30. I had been picking both my Adderall and Wellbutrin up at the pharmacy previously, which increased the price substantially (\~$60 for Wellbutrin + $30 for the Adderall). They do not charge any additional cost for medication besides the $10 for the shipment of the medication. This, in contrast to when I was seeing an in-personal psychiatrist, therapist, and paying for medication out of pocket at the pharmacy (\~$500 a month), saves me a lot of money. I see a lot of people get upset with the service when they aren't placed on a controlled substance immediately, but generally, medical providers are apprehensive about putting their patients on substances that can be addictive without attempting other medications first. They also operate based on how your state handles controlled substances through online services, which some states do not allow. Cerebral is by no means a perfect company, they are also extremely new so there will be times when things aren't addressed in the best manner possible. Prior to my current prescriber, I had one who was extremely inattentive, would have the television on in the background during our conferences, and failed to respond to my concerns on multiple occasions. This is not the fault of Cerebral, there are sometimes just very bad mental health professionals in the field. I've been with plenty of quacks in-person, too. Hell, my partner was with a psychiatrist who had him on 10 different medications which caused serious health problems before switching. It is important to know that you are allowed to change your prescriber/counselor/coordinator/therapist/etc. whenever you feel like it with no charge. If you don't feel like your current one fits, there are thousands of others you can try. It is extremely easy to do this unlike finding a new in-person specialist. I would personally give the service a 4/5. There are definitely some things that could be improved with the service, but my experience has been great.

It's not legit. Most of Cerebral's money ($30,000,000+) comes from people who never receive ANYTHING. They take your credit or debit card first. Then you get to provide your insurance details which typically fails for most people. But too late. Even if you contact them about the website problems they will still charge you an entire month's fee 2 or more days later. That's fraud. I've told them as much on the phone. Expect to see Kyle Roberston (founder of Cerebral) in prison someday soon.

This service isn’t even remotely as advertised. It is not “24/7 care” - but “care when we feel like it” instead. To make matters worse, it’s not even good care. I was first prescribed a medication that warning labels outright say you shouldn’t take if you have the medical condition I have. Then I was prescribed an anti-depressant for sleep that all warning labels say it’s dangerous to take sporadically - can you guess how I was told to take it? “Don’t take it every night, only every once in a while.” It’s disgusting DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS SCAM!

I actually did use this service and wrote a review on it, but I also understand it's not for everyone. There's a similar service called brightside health that is similar. I narrowed it down to those 2 and decided to go with cerebral. Anyone can read my review here: [https://www.fithealthymomma.com/cerebral-reviews/](https://www.fithealthymomma.com/cerebral-reviews/) For context, I went with get cerebral because I couldn't go in and see a doctor. And, to be honest, I don't like going in to see my doctor - it SUCKS ASS going in there. Anyways, I did a consultation for $45 like someone mentioned, then I got some meds needed and it was like magic for me. Sucks to hear people had bad experiences, but mine has been great.

GetCerebral is awful. I have panic disorder and PTSD and my doctor of 21 years retired. No doctors nearby are taking on new patients and I had no choice but to try GetCerebral. I was on A low dose of Xanax for over 20 years and they are making me get second and third opinions that so far has been taking months to get appointments for on their site. They give you a care counselor in the meantime. She told me when I get a panic attack to just put my face in a bowl of ice water and hold my breath for a few seconds and that should make it go away. WTF?! They basically want to give you anti-depressants and no controlled substances. I am not an addict but I need a low dose of xanax in order to leave the house because my anxiety causes severe agoraphobia. When my dr. retired I had to quit my job and stopped driving or leaving the house because without xanax, my condition gets really bad. No other med, and trust me I've tried over 35-40 works for me. I've told them that and they are making me get second and third opinions and their psychiatrists and nurse practitioners are always booked up for at least 2 weeks to over 30 days. Had the service for over 3 months and have still not been prescribed meds because I told them none of the SSRI's or other meds work for me. If you are in need of a controlled substance, they will just shuffle you around and stall. Not worth it at all in my opinion unless you need a basic antidepressant or SSRI type med.

GetCerebral will charge you a fee before completing their intake process. This has SCAM written all over it. If this happened to you then it’s possible to contact your bank and do a chargeback in 10 days. The founder of GetCerebral, Kyle Robertson, is exploiting drug seeking behavior via online searches.

My experience was beyond terrible. I called their customer service and told them my diagnosis, medications, and locations. Was told, yes, we can treat and prescribe. Great! Signed up. Had 2 counselors no-show my appts. Finally met with a therapist and a life coach (great people) When I met with the psychiatrist I was told No, they cants treat my diagnosis that I had already disclosed to customer service, therapist, and life coach. At that point, I cancelled my subscription because I only needed the service for medication management. I asked for a refund because I had been told they could help me and only after they got my money was I told they actually couldn’t. Never got the refund. They then continued to charge me for 3 months additional months. After almost a dozen phone calls confirming the subscription was cancelled and asking for refunds for the original charge and the 3 charges after it being cancelled, I’m still waiting on my money back… 8 months later.

Horrbile customer service. My meds got lost in the mail and they provided me no tracking number or notification. I went to cancel and they told me they would "let me know when the cancelation went through". Seemed sketch so I changed my bank card and sure enough they are emailing me a month after I cancled saying the I need to pay $85. Also, I tried really hard to get my insurance to work. The app was broken and wouldn't complete my insurance. And I couldn't for the life of me get in contact with anyone. Concept is cool, but very overpriced and disorganized.

This is not strictly legit. Telemedicine is legal, and certain classes of drugs can be legally prescribed that way. Typically not Drugs that are [schedule 1-3](https://www.dea.gov/drug-scheduling). However, this is a subscription service. You pay 45$ per month - for what? Normal doctors do not get paid per month but for specific services. If you have insurance, the won't pay for this. You are also very likely to find out that whatever you want, can't be had from them and you wasted the money paying for that month. They are also likely to dick you around with cancellation (though I cant say that for sure for this site in particular, because I am not going to pay to sign up for it). If you don't want to go to a doctor in person, your insurance will almost undoubtedly have a list of qualified telemedicine options (for mental health also). There are also legit prescription /pharmacy delivery and online services . This is not one of them.

Well let's see. One of their "doctors" told me to come off a medicine basically cold turkey. I have been through absolute HELL thanks to this. Found out from my family doc that it takes TWELVE WEEKS to come off this med. I've been through physical and mental withdrawal that's made me want to scream. I cancelled today and asked for a refund of what they charged my card YESTERDAY. They said no, because I had use the service. When I explained that I hadn't used the service in the last day, then the response was that they don't offer refunds because they run a "subscription model." On top of all this, they have FIVE TIMES in one month assigned me to a new "counselor" because my old one "is moving on from Cerebral." This service is a waste of money and is, in my opinion, dangerous and should not be in business. My next step is a dispute with my bank and formal complaints to the governing bodies in California and my state. IF YOU VALUE YOUR MENTAL HEALTH, STEER CLEAR OF THESE QUACKS." And attempts Extortion for monthly fees etc.  They don't reply to the zendesk.  (Place to hide behind customer requests)'

She didn’t really do shit, “Do you want a stimulant or non-stimulant? Extended release or immediate release? Okay perfect i sent it over to your pharmacy”. This is for adderall by the way, i go to my pharmacy and they tell me “Sorry, we can’t give you this medication because the psychiatrist is not qualified to prescribe you this” …… like bruh what the fuck, did i just get scammed or what the hell is going on. She’s not qualified to prescribe ADDERALL… literally the most common drug they prescribe. And I’ve been messaging them, no response, calling them, nobody is picking it up. It’s funny because whenever i message them the respond within 10 minutes everytime. But as soon as i said something i get no response and it’s been several hours. I used cerebral and liked it until recently. They refused to work with me on my script so my insurance would pay for it. Their suggestion was to use Goodrx which is a great idea except my med was free through my insurance but $50 with GoodRx. My insurance is also at fault cause they want a 90 day supply script. Cerebral has a policy against 90 day scripts because they basically want you to use their mail in service which I am not doing. I asked for a refund for this month after I canceled. They fed me a line of nonsense about how it’s a subscription service and they can’t refund me. Needless to say after a little back and forth I am getting my money back for this month. Also it is an unnecessarily tedious process to cancel the service. There should be an option on the app or website to cancel but no that would be too easy. You have to email them and they take two days to respond. The “care” coordinator said they hoped I was well. I told them I’d be better if I wasn’t having SSRI withdrawal. Then they suggested I talk to the provider who didn’t help me at all to begin with to prescribe a different medication. Anyway I’m fine. I saw a different doctor and I’m meeting with a psychiatrist next week. I googled my cerebral provider and she’s not a mental health or psych nurse practitioner. She’s a family health nurse practitioner which is fine they can prescribe mental health medications. I just don’t feel like family health practitioners should be on a mental health application. They should be specialists in mental health.

Cerebral is bulllshit. They put the appointment a month out. Comes time for the online appointment and they cancelled it due to our "location" - as if that matters for an online appointment?! Then they put it another month out. How does that help anyone that needs a mental health check?!! Then they make it difficult to cancel. You have to email them, then we only just noticed that you have to then fill out a form. Avoid them, they are frauds.

They just throw pills at you and want you to take them for 4 to 6 weeks before anything happens and if you have issues from the pills they just throw more at you. I quit taking the 4 medications they had me on and I feel so much better. Sadly I had to take these pills for 6 months to realize they aren't helping my depression but masking it and making me feel numb to everything.

The problem is that no legitimate medical professionals want to be associated with a slime-bag company like this. Also, they are committing what amounts to quasi-insurance fraud for which YOU will ultimately be held responsible. Trust me. I feel obligated to comment on here because I can’t find anywhere else to leave a crappy review. I have never in my life had such shitty care with any doctor, and I have used several online telehealth services now. They have all been great- except cerebral. It went well for a few months. I got Wellbutrin and they were sending it monthly. Then I got a notification that I needed to meet with my provider to renew my script. I did meet with him. Then the prescriber never even acknowledged me again. He never told them he met with me and renewed my script. Then January rolls around and they didn’t send my medication but billed me for it. I put a cancellation request in after multiple attempts to get in touch with them and got no answer as to why I had no medication. Don’t start people on mental health medication and then not keep up with it, it causes major issues! I put in my cancellation request on January 15th. They said to fill out a survey and wait a few days (24-48 hours)and they would cancel my subscription. They didn’t and I kept trying. Then on February 1st, they charged me!!! Then the very same day that they charged me, they cancelled my subscription. It’s like they waited on my subscription to renew again for the money and then canceled. It was very intentional and that is sketchy as hell. They for sure waited to cancel to charge me. So I reached out again, on the phone. I asked for a refund because I had put in a cancellation request many days before then and they didn’t get it done. They told me no because it was a subscription service and they don’t refund the monthly amounts. I disagree. If I requested to be canceled, then they shouldn’t be charging me. I am looking into filing major complaints.

Run. Run. Run!!! Once you get started, you cannot opt out, unsubscribe, or block them. You will be sitting at dinner with friends and get notifications from "cerebral " on your phone. Texts, emails, messages CONSTANTLY. The only way to opt out is to give them ALL of your personal information. Supposedly, they will then offer up that handy link at the bottom of most messages allowing you to get out. I really don't know. After replying STOP a total of 6 times now, I'm still getting them daily. They really really want your info! I wonder why... hmm. I've even literally read all of the privacy policies. Yes. I know, no one ever does that! Like, 7 pages down, I got an email address to send my unsubscribe opt out request to. I did, and within a few minutes received yet another opportunity to finish setting up my personal online mental profile. I'm still getting them daily. Very embarrassing mistake that I'm still regretting. Oh well... if I wasn't crazy before, I am now! If you've read to the bottom of this post, please try searching "Google reviews for Cerebral" if you're still in, please continue. I'm sure you'll give them your social and pins too. Good luck! Many need help. Please don't look here for it!

I recently started Cerebral to get treated for my ADHD and anxiety. I was able to schedule a meeting with my provider within one week. I had previous medical information and she prescribed me my meds right away. I literally picked it up the next day at the pharmacy and my insurance paid for most of the meds.. spent like $10 on my ADHD and Anxiety meds. Pretty good experience for now.

So I was just reading about that site and it says they do prescribe and deliver controlled meds so has anyone here got kpins or zans from there? Also will my current doctor be able to see that I’m getting it?? I don’t wanna pay the money unless I know I can get it for sure. I do need it for real because my last doctor quit prescribing it thanks guys!

  u/Artistic-External-40

Does anyone know if they will prescribe zans and adds together? Only asking because I do need them both to function like normal people do without them. Also will my current doctor be able to see that I’m getting this? I just want to know for sure before I spend the money. Also how many mgs a day and how much does the medicine by itself cost?? Thanks guys also will they need to know my previous doctors to prescribe me these?

To all the people who had good experiences and got their meds using Cerebral, bully for you. Also, as a side note, it horrifies me that some of you on this thread are being prescribed Adderall “to study” by counselors on Cerebral after a 10 minute convo without being diagnosed with ADHD – that’s pretty fucked, and also why Adderall/other stimulants like it remain a controlled substance and are hard to get for the rest of us who really need it to function daily. But congrats, hope you do well in school. For anyone seriously considering this company as a potentially easier option to manage your mental health and/or medication without going to a traditional psychiatrist or MD, I do have to warn you that Cerebral is extremely problematic and fraudulent, and I’d like to offer up the following points/warnings that I wish I had known before giving this service a try: 1. You have to give your card info before you understand what services you’re going to receive: Red Flag 2. The fact that Cerebral is “subscription based” is also a Red Flag – patients should pay only for services they’ve received, and nothing more. If they do insist on being a subscription based company, the monthly payment should be more like $20 -- not $85 or more for absolutely nothing. It’s beyond. 3. This company is a tech start up, not healthcare provider, and therefore is not equipped to deal with the demands and schedules of those of us who depend on our medications to function. 4. This company doesn’t make it easy for patients to use insurance to pay for services. If this were a legit company, they would have a whole team dedicated to getting people access to their meds as cheaply as they can with whatever form of insurance they have. If a patient doesn’t have insurance, they should have plans in place that make it easy to pay out of pocket. 5. The cancellation process is BEYOND; the fact that you have to fill out a form in order to cancel your subscription, and then have to wait days for the cancellation to “process”….. Unconscionable. In the year of our Lord 2022, cancelling a subscription should be as easy as the click of a link. 6. The fact that they don’t refund “subscription payments” – corrupt AF. Btw, if you’re like me and are coming to this thread after the fact, PLEASE don’t let them get away with this bullshit excuse. Anything can be refunded. Don’t give up. Write them back and threaten the air they breathe until you get your hard earned money back. For example, I told them via email that if I don’t have a full refund of the $$ they stole from me (I was never seen or prescribed anything) AND confirmation of my subscription cancellation ASAP, I would engage in the following steps: A) Make it my mission to ruin them on social media via daily negative reviews; B) Talk to a lawyer about a class-action lawsuit (which regardless, I would still be happy to join, FYI); C) Contact reporters I know in the NYC area about my experience and their predatory behavior. The fact that this company markets itself for as an option for folks with ADHD & executive functioning problems, and then makes the cancellation process extremely difficult to navigate for folks with ADHD/executive functioning problems... Amoral. Evil. Predatory. For shame. I hope this post keeps others who may be genuinely struggling and/or need care from signing up for Cerebral. They don’t give a shit about us. Don't do it.

I have my first appointment today. I’m under-prescribed by my psychiatrist for anxiety and make up the shortfall through a contact who works at a pharmacy - which I’m well aware is illegal. Not wanting to be a criminal, and not wanting to be under-prescribed, I’m going to explain the situation to my prescriber in this evening’s meeting. What should my expectations be?

  u/real_name_hidden478

They make you give your credit card information before knowing anything about the doctors or the service you’ll be receiving. There were no prescriber appointments available for almost two weeks. I don't feel like I should have been charged anything until my first appointment since I would not be receiving any sort of treatment or services during that time. I contacted customer service to either schedule me an earlier appointment or refund my money for the two weeks I'm getting nothing. Then after reading all of the complaints about them I decided to just cancel my account altogether and asked for a full refund since I had not been able to use any of their services. They refused saying that I still had "access" to the platform and it's "features." What features? The point of the platform is to receive mental healthcare, which I did not. Therefore, the features were not accessible to me because there were no appointment times available during the 3 days my account was active. They tried to appease me with a partial refund ($15) even though I wasn't able to use any of their services. They also did this without confirming with me that a partial refund would be acceptable. I believe they did this so I would not be able to request a full refund through my bank since they *technically* credited my account, even though it was not the full amount like I asked for and they did not ask if a partial refund would be acceptable before giving it to me. I would have declined it had I known. They also cancelled my account immediately instead of waiting until the end of the month that I had already paid for, which I consider theft. I paid for a full month, and even if you take off what they gave back, they still owed me several weeks of service that they denied me by deactivating my account prematurely. They compared themselves to subscription services like Netflix where you pay regardless of use, however, when you cancel Netflix, they don’t deactivate your account until the end of the month that you’ve already paid for. They don’t just steal your money like this company.

So I had my first visit yesterday. It was a televisit and she said her ISP was acting up so she called me. Caller ID came up as spring herbal nails and spa. So I can't tell if home girl was getting her nails done or if I was low key prescribed Prozac by a nail and spa salon. Honestly with the poo show that is my life this year, I can't help but laugh.

They are very predatory when it comes to cancellation. I have been paying for three months after cancellation. I finally had to dispute their charges through my bank. They basically ignore cancellation emails. DO NOT give them your card info. Find a competitor with good reviews that aren't BS

It only worked for the first month. I got an appointment with a prescriber. I got the meds. Next month I had an issue with my pharmacy and I couldn't get my meds. Customer service is inexistent. They kept charging me for subscription without me having any med or any response from my prescriber. they don't care about anything but the money. Cancellation is another story but please don't let them scam you

My first experience with GetCerebral / Cerebral App / Telemedicine (Boston)

TLDR: 34yr old woman of color. I had trouble finding help locally, and when I finally did, they gave me antidepressants and didn’t really believe my ADHD. So I booked online with Cerebral, and my first meetings with a therapist and a prescriber went really great! Picking up meds today. I live in Massachusetts so your experience may vary based on your location. I believe they do match professionals to patients by state. I’ve seen posts on here asking about others’ experiences with the Cerebral App so I wanted to share mine. Also I live in the Boston, MA area, which I have searched Reddit for Boston ADHD doctor suggestions without finding anything. Maybe this will help someone else here. A month ago: I searched locally for an appointment and was so discouraged trying to find an office that would even answer the phone. A lot of MA offices are still working remotely, and scheduling is fully booked out. With ADHD you know how frustrating it is leaving voicemails & filling out request forms online to hear nothing back! As a well-known ADHD YouTuber says, “ADHD Treatment is NOT ADHD Friendly” I FINALLY got a telehealth appointment with a male prescriber from a large Boston-area neurobehavioral office, and of course, he was quick to give me antidepressants (Prozac) but told me I had to jump through hoops to get ADHD meds (of ANY kind, didn’t even offer non-stimulants to start) Honestly I felt dismissed and like he didn’t even believe me. I had to go get a cardiac clearance from a primary care doc, find a therapist (because their in-office therapists were fully booked across the whole network) and reach out to previous clinics who had treated my ADHD in the past to send my records over—fair enough, but still such a hassle for an ADHD brain. I forgot to mention, I’d been diagnosed before! This process was so overwhelming as a self-employed person without insurance. He also made it clear their “policy” is to stick tightly to the DSM-V for diagnosis. I was very discouraged at this point because if you read up enough about Adult ADHD in women you know many of our symptoms don’t fit the mold. He did encourage me to keep advocating for myself, however. It felt like even the prescriber knows he works for this big behemoth psych practice that works off of policies and checklists, but that his own hands were tied to that. I begrudgingly accepted the Prozac prescription because I was desperate for ANYTHING to help. And, honestly I AM depressed and anxious (common comorbidities of ADHD). Two weeks in, I felt some changes to my mood, but absolutely nothing for my productivity. Basically I used to feel like crap for having no motivation, and now I’m feeling less like crap …about still having no motivation. I had a one-month follow up appointment coming up, but a month felt like way too long to carry on like this. I have been missing a lot of work while dishes, bills and laundry pile up around the house. So I decided to look for a second opinion. I kept seeing Cerebral pop up on Google, but I was skeptical because of how simple they made it sound. I figured, I don’t have insurance anyway, so the $99 first month trial ($325/mo after that includes weekly therapy) wasn’t any worse than paying $200 for a second opinion at a local psychiatric office, no therapy included. Maybe at least if I’m unhappy they can match me with somebody else. It was a bit of a wait to find an opening. I think the earliest I could see a therapist was a week out, and the prescriber was about a week and a half out. It was still faster than I could find locally. Therapy appointment: The initial meeting with my therapist was amazing. I felt like she already understood me. Thankfully I was able to get matched with another woman of color as a therapist, and she already connected with my family background and cultural relationship with mental health treatment. I look forward to continuing to work with her. Today / Prescriber appointment: I hit a bump in the road yesterday with scheduling since the initial prescriber had a technical problem with her calendar and thought she was double-booked. By the time she realized it actually WAS my time slot, the time had already passed. It was very annoying, but I called customer service and they were very helpful and able to find me somebody new the very next day! This morning I met with my prescriber for the first time, and she was immediately VERY understanding of my struggle. She mentioned how people shouldn’t have to have these big elaborate stories about why they need help, when they really just should get the help. She believed me from the beginning and already understood ADHD in women. She asked about my experience with ADHD meds in the past and recommended a low dose of Adderall to start because apparently it can work very well hand in hand with SSRI’s and they can tend to boost each other up. That explains why my high Adderall dose I was on before with an SSRI put me in zombie mode and made me want to stop taking it! She said Adderall has been out a long time, has been one of the most studied, is usually effective, and a good place to start off. She sent my prescription to my local pharmacy to pick up later today! I finally felt seen and heard and can’t wait to continue on this treatment journey. I know other people have mentioned a waiting-period for stimulant meds, so I’m assuming that’s a state by state thing, or perhaps since I already got a cardiac clearance, had been on an antidepressant already, and had prior experience with Adderall we were able to move forward. I can’t promise that Cerebral will be the same experience for everyone, but I finally feel a ray of hope for the first time in a long time! Good luck to everyone still struggling to get the help you need. Please don’t give up. I hope this helps encourage somebody to keep trying to get treatment.

I started with cerebral a week ago and also have had a very pleasant experience! It’s my first time addressing my problem and the female dr. Was super nice and I felt heard. I’ve always been afraid to address it because I didn’t want to seem like I was seeking pills. She started me on a low dose of Wellbutrin which I wasn’t opposed to. It’s so far helped my head clear the million thoughts that were always going through it, however my motivation still isn’t what I’d hoped for, so I look forward to sharing this with her on our follow up to see what next steps are. Glad your having a good experience too! Nice to hear.

UPDATE: Sorry everyone for missing your questions in the comments—I’m not good at Reddit!! I am still having a really great experience with Cerebral as far as therapy & prescriptions. It’s now February 2022, and I started seeking help back in September 2021. The only snag I have with Cerebral is their text-based customer service aka “care coordinators” (basically they’re the virtual counterparts of the front desk assistant you’d speak to at a brick and mortar doctor’s office). I don’t know if its a call center or what, but they have very slow response times over the supposedly 24hr/day messaging. It sometimes takes a full 24 hours before I get a response from them if I need help with something simple like scheduling or had an issue with a refill getting to my pharmacy properly. This is truly the only downside of Cerebral for me so far. It’s quite aggravating when you have a simple question, they take 24 hours to respond & then misunderstood the original question, then take 24 more hours to respond to the elaborated version of the question… sometimes not understanding again. At times it feels like they only read the first sentence of the message and then respond, so I’ve tried writing them with this in mind, with no improvement. Other than the messaging system with the coordinators, my care team (prescriber + therapist ) has been great. Also if you really need something, you can dig through Cerebral’s website and find a phone number to speak to a coordinator on the phone, and usually they’ve been really great at helping! But the texting communication is very hit and miss.

Cerebral review

Hello everyone! I recently tried cerebral (https://cerebral.com/) and wanted to share my experience. I have ADHD and used to get medication and treatment in person. I wanted to explore telehealth to minimize my time in the doctors offices. This seemed like a good option. Unfortunately the experience was very bad. They set up the initial consultation within a day. The person on the call agreed that my previous diagnosis of ADHD was "probably right", so they gave me adderall. I gave them my pharmacy and they spent the next week trying to issue the prescription. After giving them 2 more pharmacies they still failed to deliver. This seems to be a complete failure. If an online prescription company can't issue a prescription within a week, what good are they. Support was even worse than my experience with the "doctor". No refund will be issued and it took a week for them to even respond to my request. Your experience may be different, but I recommend you use anyone other than cerebral. .

Yes, def beware of Cerebral!!! I signed up on 12/2. My first prescriber appointment was scheduled for today 12/21at 1:30 pm. I logged on today for my appointment and was told that my appointment was the 23rd at 10:30 am. My confirmation email I received when I booked the appointment on 12/2. I accepted it on the 21st in my calendar and the reminder voicemail I received yesterday all state the 21st. Customer Service says there is not much they can do except see if there may be someone available today or tomorrow and when they reached out to the prescriber she is fully booked - supposedly there is a glitch in the system - not my fault. So I waited 3 weeks for a appointment and will be on a flight on the 23rd so who knows how long I will have to wait now...not happy at all with my first experience and the fact Cerebral won't admit they messed up and honor my appointment date says a lot about their customer service.😡 FYI - prior to them, I was signed up with another service like them and was happy. I only stopped because my husband got a new job with new insurance and my ADHD RX would have been covered under this new insurance (Cerebral partners with them). Wish I would have just stayed with my old provider and paid out of pocket instead of this hassle.

I inquired about it but ultimately didn't go with it and made the mistake of letting them know that because my email got bombarded at 3 in the morning with different people from them basically begging me to sign up with them. Going off their questionable reviews online that I've seen and how pushy they were with me, I'm not giving out a chunk of my paycheck for some sketchy online service that's absolutely *everywhere* in suggested ads (like oh my god it's so annoying, it's the same three ones).

Unfortunately these kind of services are not good. If you research reviews of any kind of therapy online 99% are all bad. Bur the worse one that from what I understood is Done. It’s the same concept if Cerebral. I read reviews where this person almost ended up to the hospital because the “psychiatrist” don’t care about anyone and they are really poor trained. Plus a lot of them have the option on only text messages where you need to pay extra, but the therapist/psychiatrist are not answering because they have to follow the rule where they can answer only 3 times in a week. It’s sad and people said that it was really a waste of money and time. Do your researchers before signing up for any kid of online therapy services.
