I have been running an ecommerce store for the last 12 years and I am happy to use Ecwid for a low-maintenance store. If you heard of Tictail, which was aquired by Shopify and discontinued, Ecwid is the new Tictail. It takes the opposite approach of all other ecommerce software: Instead of giving you a fully capable ecommerce software that you need to trim down to your needs, it gives you a trimmed down version on which you only add the features that you need. You can set up and run an ecommerce store for free, but every little option had an additional cost.
