Is Google Workspace worth it for a single-person business?

(I've tried looking for posts regarding this topic so sorry if this is a repost) I use my squarespace website as my personal portfolio, and use it mainly for job applications. I am the only one that uses it and in the past I've paid for Google Workspace so I can use the custom domain email address. My subscription for the email has recently expired, and before I renew it I was wondering if there is a better (read: cheaper) option for a domain email address? I'm currently not working, so the $72 +tax seems a bit steep for me, especially since I am the only person running the website and won't need multiple addresses (a perk of g suite/workspace). I don't use the email every day, lately it's been just a few times a month (if that), but I'm getting ready to apply for jobs again and I like the idea of a more professional sounding email and my URL is my name. Plus, this email has been a part of my marketing for the past 4 years so making a new email address doesn't really seem like an option to me... **Are there better options to set up a custom domain email address while using squarespace as a domain host?** If it ends up being worth it, I can bite the bullet and purchase it but I'm hoping there's a cheaper option when it comes to custom domain email addresses. Sorry if this doesn't make any sense, my ADHD is super bad today but I've put my thoughts in the best order I could manage. TIA!

I think it depends on your business. In most cases, you tend to look more legitimate with a domain email address. Plus, most people use Google so it's handy to be able to share tools like calendar reminders with people. You don't have to pay for the full year. You can pay month to month which is what I do. The cost is still the same as paying yearly. And there are no taxes added to my monthly payment. I'm not sure if you're in the US, but digital products here are not taxed. And here you can write it off as a business expense. I have looked at other services and they are at best the same price as Google, but the do not have as robust of tools.

Zoho offers a free custom domain email and there's a guide on how to set that up for Squarespace domains - https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/206541827-Using-Zoho-Mail-with-your-Squarespace-Domain
